Skin Types

How to identify my skin type?

As we know, this can be a tough question to answer, but it is crucial for the proper care of our skin. You have probably spent hours looking in the mirror trying to figure it out. There is no instant answer, your skin type can change throughout the years.

Skin types are classified into four categories, however, you should keep in mind that external factors such as pollution, hormones, age or even the weather can temporarily alter and change the texture and oiliness of the skin. Keeping this in mind, you should be careful when adding or changing products in your skincare routine.

There are four types of skin: Identify yours

Normal skin

It does not require much “special” care, but it shouldn’t be neglected. It’s ideal to have a proper skincare routine that keeps it healthy, and well-hydrated.

How to identify it?

  • Regular texture without blemishes.
  • Good blood circulation.
  • Balanced, soft and elastic.
  • Even skin color.

Oily skin

This type tends to be recognized for being “shiny” or “greasy”, it’s because it accumulates the most sebum. It requires a special skincare routine, it must be exfoliated often to avoid bacteria, dirt and oiliness. Hormonal imbalance, genetics, age, climate, diet, among other factors can influence the excess of oiliness on the skin.

  • Thickened and pale skin: blood vessels may not be visible.
  • Pimples and blackheads.
  • Acne.

Combination skin

Commonly known for changing its condition during the day, it tends to be a combination of normal and oily skin. This skin type can be one of the most difficult types to care for due to its mixed characteristics. Our recommendations: keep your skin hydrated and exfoliate one a week.

  • Blackheads and shine in the T zone.
  • Some open pores in the T zone.
  • Cheeks tend to dry out easily, especially when it is cold or windy.

  • Rougher and flaky appearance.
  • No natural shine.
